At Radius Logistics, we are proud to have found success in our business, but not without the support of an incredible local community. For this reason, one of our fundamental beliefs has always been to give back to the community we live in and to those in need, wherever they may be. In light of our newest community partnership with Kwantlen Polytechnic University, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some of the great work being done by the Radius team.
Our employees donate weekly to our Jeans Day fund, which we match as a company. We then decide as a team where we donate our proceeds. Over the past few years we have supported many local charities including Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Covenant House, Whalley Outreach, Lower Mainland Food Banks and the SPCA.
During the holiday season, in lieu of giving gifts to clients, we donate on their behalf to non-profit organizations. Last Christmas we took this a step further and reached out to our vendors asking them to support our charitable giving by donating gift cards that would be included in backpacks for the youth at Covenant House. The initiative was a huge success and we were able donate over 50 backpacks to youth in need.
In the business of transportation management, travelling is part of the job. We often ask our staff who travel for work to bring in small bottles of shampoo, soap, lotions, and other necessities that they gathered on the road. This year, with the help of our social committee, we were able to donate over 100 “Blessings in a Bag” to the Whalley Outreach Centre.
This isn’t just in British Columbia alone. We have also donated nationally and globally to non-profits that have touched members of our staff or their family, including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Society of BC and the Red Cross during several global disasters.
We are proud of these initiatives. More importantly, we are proud of the support we have from the incredible team at Radius in banding together to help make an impact where we can.
Now we are excited to announce the next level of this outreach. Partnering with Kwantlen Polytechnic University, we have created an endowment that will guarantee an annual gift for a student that has demonstrated need for financial assistance to pursue their education. We understand the need for post-secondary education in today’s job market and are honoured to support a student as they pursue their education.
We are looking forward to implementing our endowment program, and want to thank our customers, vendors and staff that continue to allow us to donate to these worthy causes and give to those who need it most.
